In the spirit of the season of growth and renewal, AACR welcomes over a dozen new members since the membership drive last month.
Ever wonder why you joined AACR? Some of us are conventional conflict resolution practitioners: mediators, ombuds, arbitrators and so on. The more I get to know our members, however, I have learned that very few of us came to AACR through a typical conflict resolution pathway. (Is there one?)
Here are some examples of the backgrounds, day jobs and side gigs of our current members:
- Suicide prevention
- Homeless prevention
- Tribal law
- Martial arts
- Collaborative law
- Mental health
- Civil rights
- Community volunteer
- Small business owner
The more I get to know you, our members, I am heartened we share the belief that conflict resolution options should be as vast and diverse as the practices of our members. Our community is a reflection of how we interact with one another and engage in programs. If you are interested in bringing your involvement to a new level, please contact email@example.com.
Spring is also a great time to get out in this beautiful weather. I hope to see you on the patio of Scottsdale’s Thirsty Lion this Thursday, for our Spring social.
With warm regards,
